A lot of Louis Vuitton latest releases are inspired by the House’s historical events or inventions. This is a great thing because the new handbags will be carrying a piece of this brand’s history. Nicolas Ghesquiere has created the Louis Vuitton Pernelle Bag for the Fall Winter 2017 Collection, which is also inspired by the images from the House archives. This is a luxurious handbag and lovely in every way.

The design

The latest Pernelle bag is elegant, feminine and large in size. It’s sophisticated, but not too much. It’s made with rounded lines and it feels flexible and soft. The iconic lock has been put in the center, but it’s covered by studded leather with the house signature printed on it.

The bag comes with a tag, but the most notable is the large LV signature stitched on the right side. You can tote this bag with double handles, but you can also carry it on your shoulder because it comes with a removable shoulder strap.

The interior

The interior is large because this bag is quite big. Inside you will find one large compartment to get your items structured and a zipped pocket, double flat pocket as well as a secret pocket that an be closed with a padlock.

Chanel and Louis Vuitton Named Top Brands on Social Media

In the bustling digital era, fashion brands are fighting to earn a spot on the top of the social media ladder. As consumers become more attached to their screens, brands are making it a bigger priority to establish themselves on platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram (read: Top 10 Most Digitally Savvy Brands)
So, who is truly a leader in the social media world?

According to WWD, Insightpool, a marketing platform that gathers social data, observed the profiles of top fashion brands from January 2017 to April 2017 in an attempt to learn more about the online fashion landscape. Insightpool tracked the overall audience engagement of these brands through keywords, comments, and tags.

The study concluded that Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and Christian Siriano are the top three social media leaders in the digital world at the moment. In terms of followers, here’s what the numbers show us:

  • Chanel – 20.1 million Instagram followers and 12.8 million Twitter followers
  • Louis Vuitton – 16.1 million Instagram followers and 6.11 million Twitter followers
  • Christian Siriano – 643,000 Instagram followers and 372,000 Twitter followers

While this hierarchy interesting, it’s not all about numbers. Gaining more followers can help companies raise brand awareness and inform consumers about new products or trends. The Louis Vuitton Neverfull Tote in Contrast Epi Leather

FINALLY, THIS CLASSIC BAG HAS SPOKEN TO ME

I have a small confession to make: I’ve never really gotten the Louis Vuitton Neverfull Tote. Sure, I can recognize that it’s both a beloved classic bag and a great, functional option for those who need to carry a lot, but it’s never been a bag that sparked much personal interest in me. I’m not a tote bag person in general, so my affections have always run more toward Vuitton’s single-strap shoulder bags and crossbodies. All it took was some pink detailing, though, and I’m all aboard the Neverfull bandwagon.

Part of the Neverfull’s appeal is that its simplicity makes it a perfect canvas for variation, embellishment and seasonal adornment without sacrificing functionality. It’s been emblazoned with everything from Yayoi Kusama’s signature dots to Jeff Koons’s, well…whatever it was he did. The wide open space of a Neverfull side panel holds endless possibility.

With this version, though, the devil is in the details (and mostly inside the bag itself). Louis Vuitton’s hardy Epi leather is usually a single-tone material, but lately, Vuitton has been releasing some of its Epi bags with contrasting interiors and edge paint. The contrasting interior is something I’ve loved since Mansur Gavriel made it its signature when the brand debuted in 2013, and since then, nearly every brand has imitated the look. In this instance, though, LV takes it one step further my extending the neon pink interior to the bag’s edges, which is what I love the best. The move sharpens the lines of the bag’s iconic structure and makes the whole thing feel new all over again. If I were in the market for a tote, this version of the Neverfull would be at the top of my list.

Buy through Louis Vuitton for $2,050. This version is the MM; if you want something similar but with a more subdued color combination, the bag is also available in deep purple with pale pink accents.
